On Monday, January 31st, we woke up in Lexington, KY and continued our drive to Beavercreek, OH. As we were getting ready that morning, we were watching the news and noticed a wonderful cold blast headed our way that was scheduled to dump ice and then snow. We were not scheduled to do the walk-thru of the house until Tuesday prior to the big truck arriving to deliver our stuff. We decided it would be a good idea to see if we could speed up the process and see if we could do the walk-thru on Monday afternoon upon arrival and possibly the truck show up early. Unfortunately, the movers had someone else's house on the front of the truck that had to be delivered 2 hours from here and they would not be able to deliver until Tuesday morning as scheduled.
So Plan B was set into action. We were able to do the walk-thru of the house on that Monday, check into the hotel, and buy groceries for the house in case we were iced in the next day. We gave new meaning to needing milk, bread, and eggs!! We had NOTHING! Our non-perishables were somewhere on the 18-wheeler and we had no perishables. Southern friends don't let the Northerners tell you you are crazy for rushing to the store to buy groceries when snow has been forecast. I believe the picture speaks for itself.
