Unpacking Day!

The day has finally arrived when the truck holding the stuff of our lives shows up on King Edward Way. After Kevin thawed out the truck for 30 minutes in the hotel parking lot, we arrived at our new home and awaited the big orange truck.

The truck arrives and the movers stage the house for move-in. I did not know what they meant by staging the house because I was not at the old house when they staged it for move out. I learned quickly it was protecting walls, stairwells, and carpet so they could move quickly to unload the truck. I was impressed at the rate at which they unpacked the truck.

Kevin's tv is in that box. He had to wait 2 days for it to be uncrated.

Tuesday was a very long day for the Riveras but by the end of the day the kitchen was organized and we ate dinner in our new home...grilled cheese and soup...YUMMO! We were all in bed by 8:30 and by 9:30 the power was out! It finally came back on at 4:30 the next morning.  We were determined to get rid of all the boxes in the house by the end of the week and by Friday we were 95% unpacked. By Sunday, all the boxes were unpacked and everything (minus pictures on the wall) was in place. All we can say is we don't want to have to pack and move again anytime soon. That was a chore but we are so thankful that CAT took care of us by packing and moving our stuff for us.

We can now focus on why God moved us to Ohio...we know He has a specific purpose for this major move.

Until next time,
Kevin, Ami, and Kaleb
